Battle Creek CAN Mentors are being trained and can provide technical assistance for youth. Together, staff and mentors assist the youth in the community and get them ready for college so that they have a fighting chance. Here's a look at some programming taking place today:

Legacy Scholars Peer Mentoring Program

We know that students who participate in a quality mentor program are more prepared academically and socially for when they attend college or other postsecondary training programs. The Legacy Scholars Peer Mentoring program seeks to pair Legacy Scholar students at Kellogg Community College with upperclassmen students at Battle Creek Central High School, Lakeview High School and Calhoun Community High School.

Our goal is to provide support and resources to our Legacy Scholars as they transition through their postsecondary educational endeavors. In 2017, we will offer a variety of events and workshops desinged to promote and strengthen the relationship between participating mentors and mentees. Take a look at the current Seminar Schedule:

November 2016 - Matching and Overview
December 2016 - Adjusting to College/Time Management Skills
January 2017 - Accessing Local Scholarships
